Circa 2000, Under the leadership of Rod Millwood and the late Mona Wilkerson The Laff House—The Original Comedy Club was considered a premiere comedy venue for veteran and emerging comedians, then situated on the bustling iconic South Street in Philadelphia, PA. With an intimate setting that seated 240ppl, The Laff House was widely known for being the springboard for comedians to hone their stage skills and develop into renowned professionals, comedians such as Kevin Hart, Mike Blackson, Bill Burr, Lisa Lampanelli, Gary Owens, Mike Epps, Deon Coles, J. B. Smoove and many others have now become household names.
Rod “Mr. Rod” Millwood, has over 20 years of entertainment experience with a specialty in managing talent and music production. Mr. Rod has a knack for identifying and cultivating talent, and has shared this expertise in assisting some of the biggest names in comedy today.
Mr. Rod’s most current comedic endeavors include “The Laff
House Presents the Introduction”, “The Fresh Faces of Comedy”. “The Comedians Roundtable”, as well as curating pop-up comedy shows at various venues in the tri-state area.
He is excited to take on new projects such comedy album production, speaking engagements, and content development for television and film.
